A Journey Through Dante's Inferno with a Shambling Twist...
The world ended on a Thursday.
In one day, the world succumbed to a pestilence that decimated the living. In its place rose a new species: vicious, gruesome, wandering monsters with an insatiable hunger for the living. There is no government, no shelter.
Still in her twenties, Cash has watched her friends die, only to walk again. An office worker with few survival skills, she joins up with Clutch, a grizzled Army veteran with PTSD. Together, they flee the city and struggle through the nine circles of hell, with nothing but Clutch’s military experience and Cash’s determination to live. As they fight to survive in the zombie inferno, they quickly discover that nowhere is safe from the undead… or the living.
This is the beginning after the end.

Despite me being quite a jumpy, scaredy cat around horror stories, I do actually quite like them. I also do love a good zombie story so this one did make me take another look at the synopsis too. This being a modern remake of Dante's Inferno but with zombies should give you a reason to pick this book up straight away.
I found myself totally thrown into Cash's world. But the world changes, overrun by zombies and needing to find shelter she starts on a great adventure. I found myself wincing through certain parts when the zombies attacked and also cheering when she escaped them. When she finds Clutch and he seems so stand offish towards her, you can't see it lasting but it does. Along the way they meet others and have to come across militia groups who are against them.
The book is so gripping that I read the book over a couple of days and I really loved everything. I loved the characters and I could relate to Cash and everything she did, I would have done. I wasn't sure about Clutch at first but I ended up really liking him and the other side characters were well placed within parts of the story.
So it gets the full five from me :-)
yay! So glad you enjoyed it! And thanks so much for taking the time to share your thoughts on the book!
Thanks for letting me read it. It's awesome!
