Danger waits on both sides of the grave.
Half-vampire Cat Crawfield and her vampire husband Bones have fought for their lives, as well as for their relationship. But just when they've triumphed over the latest battle, Cat's new and unexpected abilities threaten to upset a long-standing balance . . .
With the mysterious disappearance of vampires, rumors abound that a species war is brewing. A zealot is inciting tensions between the vampires and ghouls, and if these two powerful groups clash, innocent mortals could become collateral damage. Now Cat and Bones are forced to seek help from a dangerous "ally"—the ghoul queen of New Orleans herself. But the price of her assistance may prove more treacherous than even the threat of a supernatural war . . . to say nothing of the repercussions Cat never imagined.

The Good: Cat & Bones are back! I had been waiting for a long while and I loved getting to see one of my favorite fiction couples ever! However, i think my favorite part of the book was Vlad. We got to read quite a few scenes with him and it just made me look forward to his spin-off even more.
The Bad: This wasn’t my favorite book in the series =/. I felt that something was missing.
The Romance: I feel that since Cat and Bones are a stable couple, there could definitely have been more focus on the action and plot of the book.

*Contains VERY MINOR Spoilers for the previous books in the series.
The Good: Eugene is back! It’s been so long since the last Dark swan book, that I was dying for Iron crowned! I wasn’t disappointed. So much action and series development in this book that left breathless. Great twists and turns =)
The Bad: I didn’t really love the way Eugenie handle the whole Kyo and Dorian issue =/
The Romance: A lot of romance of this one for both Team Kyo and Team Dorian. A lot of surprises as well hehe.

xoxo,
Cat & Bones - totally agree, something was missing. I think the stability in their romance made the overall book a tad boring. I'm used to jealousy and heat between these two - but in this installment it was all stable and stunted.
Eugene/Kyo/Dorian - a lot of fans are voicing their complaints about 'Iron Crowned'. Mostly because nobody thought Eugene's actions with Kyo and Dorian was in character for her. I agree. I normally like Richelle Mead because she makes tough (but plausible) decisions for her characters. But Eugene choosing Kyo was clearly just a convenient plot-ploy. It's doubly annoying because I was looking forward to reading a whole book in which Dorian and Eugene are loved-up and committed!
@Danielle
C&B exactly!
and I totally agree, it was out of character for Eugene to make that hasty choice =/
I couldn't have said it any better! Great review!
@Carmel
LOL Thanks! =D
well since you've read my review already you know we feel the same way about TSOTG. I felt like something HUGE was missing and I agree about Vlad! I want his book so bad XD
I haven't read the second Dark Swan book yet, but I really need to. XD
@Mariya
You soooo need to! LOL
OH I have all of these but Iron Crowned on my tbr... I so want to get to them. I'll love Cat and Bones no matter what (hey, I'm a fan of the series... what can I say?).
@Melissa
I am too!!! i love Cat and Bones, i just wanted more hehe =D
I have not began this series yet! But I really need to get to it ASAP! Thank you for your quikie honest reviews :)
I so love Cat and Bones! I agree it wasn't my favorite of the series, but I pretty much enjoy anything and everything she writes:) I'm looking forward to Iron Crowned, but I'm a little concerned with your not loving the whole Dorian/Kyo issue. I'm pretty evenly split on them!
I liked TSOTG. I think what was missing was Cat always getting in trouble. This time she though things through. I'm to see that see matured but I like her to get in trouble and have Bones save her again. LOL, great review!
Great short reviews :) I am a bit intrigued by the Mead books
Great reviews. I don't know why but I've not read Jeanne Frost yet, I must get one of her books asap. x
One day I am going to read these LOL I just need more hours in the day :)
A lot of said they felt something was missing from TSOTG, but I really liked it. Vlad definitely stole the show!

Thanks hon!!! =D
Everybody keeps on saying this about TSotG but I really loved it! It's my second fav of the series. It was nice seeing Bones and Cat not fighting for once. I liked Ch 21 but it didn't stand up to Ch32 IMO.
@meggerfly
Im glad you did love it!
I agree, nothing compares to Chapter 32!
