But first, a little bit about this feature and the rules to join in…
Every Sunday I will post a TOP 5 list on the blog. It can be about anything and every week I'll have a new theme {You can vote on next week’s theme on my RIGHT sidebar!} and I will ad the Mr.Linky bellow the post so you can do a list with the theme and add you link to it.
Rules:
Write a post listing your TOP 5 choices within the theme I chose (or was chosen on a poll) for the week.
Mention this Blog on the post and link back to it.
Fell free to use the Feature's image (there is a smaller size version of it bellow)
After you've finished your post, add you link (of the post, not your blog's main page) to the Mr.Linky at the end of that week's post.
If you don’t have a blog to post, just leave your list in the comments =)
*in no particular order
Eat Pray Love
by Elizabeth Gilbert
Saw the movie, was bored and can't even thinking of reading it.
50 Shades Series
by E.L. James
Nope... sorry! I will just keep reading Jenny Trout's Recaps and I'm happy with it!
The Alchemist
by Paulo Coelho
A Brazilian author that is very popular overseas and even here in Brazil to some extent. Most Brazilians do consider him a bit of a hack though, so I'd rather read something else.
Outlander
by Diana Gabaldon
This one is a bit strange. I actually have this book and have read half of it a couple years ago... I don't wanna go back to it, AT ALL! I just don't think it's my cup of tea =/
Life of Pi
by Yann Martel
I don't even wanna watch the movie LOL But the movie actually has a chance of being watched someday... The book on the other hand I KNOW will never be read. Besides the plagiarism controversy is enough to turn me off to it completely!
Attention Please HELP, Guys! If you have any theme ideas for the next Top 5 Sundays Posts, please leave them in the comments! NEED NEW IDEAS! Your input would be much appreciated!
Now I can’t wait to see who is in YOUR List of
Popular Books That Don't Attract Me!
Write you post and leave your link so i can check it out!
Hope you guys have fun with it!
Don’t Forget to Vote for the Theme for
My TOP 5 Sundays Post on the Poll at the RIGHT sidebar!
For me it's 'Lord of the Rings'. The movies were painful enough.
But I LOVE 'OUTLANDER'! Argh! Kills me that you'll never really get to know Jamie! Although, I dare you to watch the first episode of the TV adaptation when it comes out in 2014, then come back and tell me the books don't interest you ;)
I love this particular theme! Maybe you should also do series that don't attract you, or popular books that you DNF'ed LOL.
As for the books, I have read Life of Pi, and I absolutely adored it. It was a pick from my book club and I didn't want to read it at all, but once I started it, I could not put it down. Haven't seen the movie, though, and have no desire to do so.
Aside from that one, I haven't read any of the others, and definitely won't, except for Outlander. I got it for my Kindle at a bargain price a few years ago, but it is buried in the TBR mountain. Time travel is one of my least favorite tropes, so between that and the sheer length of the book, I keep putting it off. One of these days..... Hey, and that's another idea for a top five post - least favorite, or most favorite, tropes.
Nice list, I haven't read any of these, although after years refusing to read Outlander & The Alchemist, a while ago I decided to give them a try, although I still haven't. And I totally agree on Eat, Pray, Love, I was so bored with the movie, I didn't even finish watching it, and 50 Shades is on my list, too. As for Life of Pi, I haven't read the book, but the movie is amazing, you must watch it. As for the plagarism controversy, I haven't even heard about it until now, but I read that post now & the description of that book, and to be honest, it sounds nothing like Life of Pi. I loved this theme, Larissa, and I agree with JenM suggestions, maybe even a theme about series we gave up on if it hadn't been done. Also, I totally agree on the LotR books vs movies, the movies were much better ;)
I want to read "Eat, pray, love" someday. About "the life of Pi", I saw the movie, it's awesome. many colourful and vitalist. I didn't still read the book. I read the 2 first of "50 shadows"; I like it but it's nothing of the another world.

**As of Today, Feb 24th, This Blog is an Award Free Zone!**
I am sorry! I LOVE the awards you give me and I wish I didn't have to do this, but my blogging schedule in general has not made possible for me to follow the requirements for the awards I receive.
Because of that, I feel that this is for the best.

I only read life of pie. I didn't I know I has a plagiarism scandal attach to it. I will lower the rating with a star
