This week is a walk in memory lane and I have some stories to tell along with my picks =D
Hope you'll stick around, comment and join me! =)
This week’s results:
The theme for today is:
Books That Started Your Book Addiction!
But first, a little bit about this feature and the rules to join in…
Every Sunday I will post a TOP 5 list on the blog. It can be about anything and every week I'll have a new theme {You can vote on next week’s theme on my left sidebar!} and I will ad the Mr.Linky bellow the post so you can do a list with the theme and add you link to it.
Rules:
Write a post listing your TOP 5 choices within the theme I chose (or was chosen on a poll) for the week.
Mention this Blog on the post and link back to it.
Fell free to use the Feature's image (there is a smaller size version of it bellow)
After you've finished your post, add you link (of the post, not your blog's main page) to the Mr.Linky at the end of that week's post.
If you don’t have a blog to post, just leave your list in the comments =)
*in no particular order
Harry Potter
by J.K. Rowling
I remember like it was yesterday when my dad gave me the first 3 books in the series for Xmas. They were the only ones released in Portuguese at the time and I devoured the book in 3 days. I was so restless for the 4th, that my dad bought me it in English. I was about 17 at the time and reading was definitely a challenge, but an awesome one!
The Little Vampire
by Angela Sommer-Bodenburg
My fist foray into the Vampire world! I used to read this series as a kid and loved it soooo much! I had forgotten about them until recently. These books bring me great memories =D
Twilight Saga
by Stephenie Meyer
I know, I know... but I have to admit that even though I have always loved reading, the addiction I have started about 5 years ago. I read the Twilight books 5 times in a row and was obsessed I wanted more in that vein and that brought me to my love for PNR, Paranormal YA and UF. I will be forever thankful to Twilight for that!
Lord of The Rings
by J. R. R. Tolkien
Another challenge for me, since I read it in English as well... Love the books, but this is the only instance so far where I actually prefer the movies, despite something that I still feel were missing from them.
Narcissus in Chains
by Laurell K. Hamilton
Weird pick, huh? Even though I started teaching English early and the fact that I kept reading Harry Potter in English every year, this was the first ADULT book I ever read in English. It was a bit daunting and I am aware I didn't understand 100% of it at the time, but I fixed that in a re-read of the series a couple years ago =)
An interesting tidbit? My Grandmother gave me this book! LOL
Attention! Please HELP! If you have any theme ideas for the next Top 5 Sundays Posts, please leave them in the comments! NEED NEW IDEAS! Your input would be much appreciated!
Now I can’t wait to see who is in YOUR List of
Books That Started Your Book Addiction!
Write you post and leave your link so i can check it out!
Hope you guys have fun with it!
Don’t Forget to Vote for the Theme for
My TOP 5 Sundays Post on the Poll at the left sidebar!
Great theme, but I'll skip this one, mainly because I've loved reading since I can remember, probably since I learned to read ;) I got that from my mom, she used to read always :) so I can't really list 5 books that started my book addiction, since I can't really remember them, and they were probably children's books, although I guess Grimm's fairy tales were among them :)
I love HP of course, and although LotR books were great, I actually love the movies more, too, especially the extended editions :)
Great picks - I love the randomness of Narcissus; seems so appropriate! After talking so much and so often, not to mention knowing how quickly you devour books these days, I sometimes forget that English isn't your first tongue. Although, given how you get about spoilers, I'm not at all surprised you couldn't wait to read on, LOL

**As of Today, Feb 24th, This Blog is an Award Free Zone!**
I am sorry! I LOVE the awards you give me and I wish I didn't have to do this, but my blogging schedule in general has not made possible for me to follow the requirements for the awards I receive.
Because of that, I feel that this is for the best.
Ooh I liked this one! Great picks!
Great choices, love the topic this week. :)
