*Expected Publication of Dark Frost: May 29th!
I’ve seen so many freaky things since I started attending Mythos Academy last fall. I know I’m supposed to be a fearless warrior, but most of the time, I feel like I’m just waiting for the next Bad, Bad Thing to happen. Like someone trying to kill me—again.Everyone at Mythos Academy knows me as Gwen Frost, the Gypsy girl who uses her psychometry magic to find lost objects—and who just may be dating Logan Quinn, the hottest guy in school. But I’m also the girl the Reapers of Chaos want dead in the worst way. The Reapers are the baddest of the bad, the people who murdered my mom. So why do they have it in for me?It turns out my mom hid a powerful artifact called the Helheim Dagger before she died. Now, the Reapers will do anything to get it back. They think I know where the dagger is hidden, but this is one thing I can’t use my magic to find. All I do know is that the Reapers are coming for me—and I’m in for the fight of my life.

*Minor Overall Series SPOILERS
For a while now I have been having issues with Y.A. novels. I can’t seem to just open myself up and try new Y.A. books or series, even of the Paranormal nature. However, there are a few series that I simply love and will keep on reading as the authors deliver awesome books.
The Mythos Academy is definitely one of these series. Jennifer Estep has created such a rich, scary and captivating world and characters that you can’t help but feel and root for them time and time again.
I love the heroine, Gwen, specially how different she is from other Y.A. heroines. She is strong, brave, smart and not perfect in the least. It is her flaws and shortcomings that make her such a lovable and believable heroine.
Dark Frost starts off not long after the end of Kiss of Frost and the we get punched in the gut with the action right off. I absolutely loved how Jennifer Estep is not afraid to bring out the pain and mayhem, specially in a world where the Pantheon, the God of Chaos, Reapers and a whole cast of myths are real.
We get tons of action throughout Dark Frost and a lot of surprises as well. I am so happy that Estep has forgone the Love Triangle in this series, Gwen already has enough obstacles in her life and heart, having to choose between two boys would have just been contrived in my point of view.
I can complain about anything in Dark Frost, it would be that at times there was some background information in weird places. However, that did not in any way, shape or form take anything away from me enjoying the book.
I really don’t want to spoil anything, so I’ll just say that Dark Frost is fantastic! A great installment in a very exciting series and full of surprises. After the sneak peak of Crimson Frost in the end, I am even more excited for the next novel in the Mythos Academy series.
