Thirty-six cities. Thirty-six stories of obsession. From ancient Thebes to present day Berlin, these little portraits of humans superimposed on their suburban environment are corroding treats thrown together in a past-modern beaker, landmark tales of love in the metropolis. A round-the-world tour of craving and decadence.

Metrophilias by Brendan Connell I'm not sure what I was expecting from this book as thirty six small chapters each about a different city and people looked destined to confuse me. So I broke it down into separate chapters as this is not a novel. It's all about how you think before you read (I think!).
Some of the stories honest and quite honestly brazen topics but each are fascinating. I don't think I will ever read anything that covers such a wide range of topics in one book ever. Although it is a short read do not think it will be a quick read, each chapter deserves time of it's own. Although some might find some of the topics disturbing as I mentioned as they range from a fetish of bald head to taboo topics so be warned.
That said this is a great read and deserves the 5 Loveys that I've given it.

Thank you Sarah for sharing today - these are the type of reads that really need to be digested over time, at least that is what it sounds like to me. I am intrigued.
Well well well, this sounds intriguing. I have never heard of this, but the premise is very interesting. I am looking at some of the other reviews on Amazon and they are also peaking my interests too. Definitely on the wishlist. Thank you so much hon :)
Interesting, I enjoy shorts. I may need to pick it up.
Be sure to stop back and let us know what you thought of it :-)
