Hey there everyone! =) Top 5 Sundays time! YAY!
Let’s get right to it, shall we?
This week’s results:
Books for an UF 1st Timer! = 33 (68%)
Favorite 3rd Book in a Series! = 15 (31%)
The theme for today is:
Books for an UF 1st Timer!
But first, a little bit about this feature and the rules to join in…
Every Sunday I will post a TOP 5 list on the blog. It can be about anything and every week I'll have a new theme {You can vote on next week’s theme on my left sidebar!} and I will ad the Mr.Linky bellow the post so you can do a list with the theme and add you link to it.
Rules:
-
Write a post listing your TOP 5 choices within the theme I chose (or was chosen on a poll) for the week.
-
Mention this Blog on the post and link back to it.
-
Fell free to use the Feature's image (there is a smaller size version of it bellow)
-
After you've finished your post, add you link (of the post, not your blog's main page) to the Mr.Linky at the end of that week's post.
-
If you don’t have a blog to post, just leave your list in the comments =)
This week’s theme is Books for an UF 1st Timer!
I love Urban Fantasy so this was actually a pretty fun list to think about! I decided to classify them by the type of heroine in the series =D
*in no particular order
The Outsider! – The human heroine in the paranormal world.
This series has it all, but it’s more about Shifters and I love it!
The Insider! – The Vampire almost anti-heroine.
The Original! – No vamps or shifters, it’s all about Djinns and Wardens.
One of the most original Urban Fantasy series I have ever read!
The Insider/Outsider! – Heroine is paranormal but doesn’t really fit in.
On the fence! – Heroine is half human-half fey and doesn’t really belong to either.
Special Mentions:
Attention!

xoxo,
hmmm...first timer! I've done this.
~Mind Games
~Halfway to the Grave
~Some Girls Bite
~Queen of Shadows
~Darkfever
Recommended them to a first timer, she loved them all and then we both went into obsessive Barrons mode LOL
oh, and Bones, Packard, David, and Ethan mode too. =DDDDDDD
Yes, yes and YES! This list is perfection :)
@Mariya
LOL
great list! and great Heroes to gaga over! =D
@Danielle
Awwww such high compliment!
Thanks!
Great list!!
For more ideas, maybe you could go on to do: top books by species (fairies, cat shifters, aliens, vampires, werewolves, dragon shifters, demons, angels, etc...), top books by covers, top authors by genre, and top books turned into a movie/tv show
Good reading ~ Escape by Fiction :)
lol, really? You don't expect me to only put 5 right? Just did my list and there are 11 on it hahaha I'm such a cheater.
I like the top books by species, and I think 5 is the perfect amount for those, because anymore and it would be difficult. Shoot, all of Escape by Fictions ideas are good.
I am ashamed to say I haven't read any of these but I can suggest one Black Wings by Christina Henry. That was my first UF and I loved it.
Great choices Larissa! This one was too hard! For the most part I just picked the books I bought for my friend who finally got into the genre! Wanted to pick so much more though!
This list looks really good to me. The only one I have read is Moon Called and I would love to know more about the others. Thanks for sharing.
Great list, but what about the Dresden Files series by Jim Butcher. So good!
I haven't heard of some of those but I went and found out about them real real quick...
thanks for sharing..
jen

Check out Mine and I agree with Patricia Briggs and Rachel Caine's.
Great selection! :)
LOL *hangs head in shame* I haven't read any of those series!:)) But they've been sitting on my TBR pile for a while now, I shall get to them ASAP! I've read some of your Special Mentions though, and they rock! (Love Mind Games and Jaz Parks!)
I'd also add The Elemental Assassin by Jennifer Estep to the list and Kim Harrison's The Hollows, though it may be a little too much for a first timer LOL.
xoxo
I've only read one of these series...must check out the rest!
This is a fantastic top 5 question! I totally agree with Moon Called. Other than that, I have not read your other choices! I can't believe it! lol I would usually recommend Carolyn Crane's Disillusionists series and Ilona Andrews Kate books. And of course the Fever books.
Great answers :D
Mine would be:
Moon Called
Stray
The Better part of darkness
Some girls Bite
The Sweet scent of blood :)
Perfect list. Excellent choices. x
