Hey there my dear readers! =) My favorite time of the week has arrived, Top 5 time!
I have to say that even though there are some themes that make me want to pull my hair out trying to come up with 5 items, I LOVE doing this and I love seeing what you all come up with as well! =)
Let’s get right to it, shall we?
This week’s results:
Favorite Quotes! = 8 (44%)
Favorite Dystopian Worlds! = 10 (55%)
The theme for today is:
Favorite Dystopian Worlds!
*thanks Fiktshun for the theme!
But first, a little bit about this feature and the rules to join in…
Every Sunday I will post a TOP 5 list on the blog. It can be about anything and every week I'll have a new theme {You can vote on next week’s theme on my left sidebar!} and I will ad the Mr.Linky bellow the post so you can do a list with the theme and add you link to it.
Rules:
- Write a post listing your TOP 5 choices within the theme I chose (or was chosen on a poll) for the week.
- Mention this Blog on the post and link back to it.
- Fell free to use the Feature's image (there is a smaller size version of it bellow)
- After you've finished your post, add you link (of the post, not your blog's main page) to the Mr.Linky at the end of that week's post.
- If you don’t have a blog to post, just leave your list in the comments =)
This week’s theme is Favorite Dystopian Worlds!
According to Answers.com Dystopia means:
An imaginary place or state in which the condition of life is extremely bad, as from deprivation, oppression, or terror.
I had a hard time with this one because I realize I haven’t really read many books or series that fit into this category, but I’ll do my best =D
*in no particular order
Inside Out Series by Maria V. Snyder
ENVY Series by Joss Ware
The only Adult series representing in this list LOL
Bumped by Megan McCafferty
Across The Universe by Beth Revis
Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins
Attention!
Please HELP!

xoxo,
The only one I hadn't heard of is the Envy series by Joss Ware. Going to have to check it out. Own or plan to own (Bumped) the rest.
Thanks Larissa! :)
My favorites are the Downside Ghosts series by Stacia Kane and Wither by Lauren DeStefano.
Great picks Larissa! I had Inside Out series as well since I love anything Maria writes basically!!
I also agree with Sapphire on Stacia Kane's Downside Ghosts series!
Pretty sure most of my picks fit the definition right!
'Hunger Games' is hands-down the very best! Incredible!
Great list :)
@Jessica
Cool! hope you enjoy it hon! I think its more of the Post-apocalyptic genre LOL
@Sapphire
Love the Downside Ghosts series! =D
@Jessica
Thanks hon!
@Danielle
Totally agree!
Thanks hon!
Nice theme!:) I haven't read that many dystopian novels to be able to make a top... but I loved The Hunger Games too! And Wither! And I already have Inside Out, Across the Universe and Bumped on my TBR list... they seem awesome!
xoxo
Matched and Restoring Harmony were some of my fave dystopians. Fabulous picks.
Good List , I have Hunger Games sitting on my shelf to read but I need the other two books yet.
Happy Easter!
One thing for sure, I would not like to live in the freaky dystopian worlds.
But ok
Hunger Games
The Chaos walking books
Uglies
Arghh what was the name, that book with zombies..by Alden Bell, oh well.
I think those are it
Oh I have several still on my tbr that I've heard are great dystopian worlds. Looks like the darker side is here to stay! :)
Happy Easter to you!
The only dystopian books that I've read recently are The Hunger Games trilogy. That series was unbelievable! I have some of the Uglies books and I herd that Stephanie Meyers book The Host is considered dystopian. Is that true?
I have never read any of Maria's books and I really feel like I am missing out! And I totally was getting into Bumped, but then my NetGalley thingie expired before I got to finish it... Will have to grab a copy sometime soon! I couldn't agree more with you with Across the Universe and The Hunger Games... I think that I would also add Delirium, Matched, and the Uglies Trilogy too, because they are all pretty great!
@Liz
Thanks hon! =)
@BLH
Thanks!
oooh you gotta read it! soooo good =D
@Blodeuedd
Thanks for the picks! I'll check those out =D
@Melissa
Thanks hon, you too! =D
@meggerfly
I so wanna read the Uglies books. I dont know about the Host, I heard it was more sci-fi...
@Avery
Thats so sucks! Im always afraid that might happen to the books I read for NetGalley as well LOL
Dystopian is my new fave genre! I love the worlds in them and what they represent!
So I have always wanted to submit a topic for Top 5 Sunday, but I have never really had any good ideas... Until the other day... Hows about "Top 5 Book Series You Were Sad to Say Goodbye To"? Please, please, please do not tell me that this has already been done! ;) Think of all of the possibilities! From Harry Potter to Vampire Academy to The Hunger Games!
