The clock is ticking for Sabina Kane. She has to save her sister from her mysterious captors. And in order to do that, she has to broker a deal between the mages and the vampires before all hell breaks loose.
But as much as Sabina is focused on surviving the present, the past won’t be ignored. Before she can save those she cares about, she’s got to save herself from the ghosts of her past. Because the past is haunting her. Literally.

Green-Eyed Demon (Sabina Kane) |
*Contains Spoilers if you haven’t read the first two books in the series.
I read the first book in Jaye Wells’ Sabina Kane series, Red-headed Stepchild, before I started reviewing books in 2009. By the time the second book in the series, The Mage in Black, came out I ended up postponing reading it. Last week, I got Green-Eyed Demon from NetGalley and I finally buckled down and read Mage in Black. I could hit myself for taking so long to catch up on this series. I had forgotten how awesome these books are!
Gree-Eyed Demon starts off not very long after the events of Mage in Black. Sabina, Adam and Giguhl are trying to find out where Sabina’s sister, Maisie, is after she was kidnapped at the end of Mage in Black.
From page one, Sabina Kane’s newest adventure is a wild ride and I didn’t want to get off for one second! Between trying to find her sister, dealing with her feelings for Adam, planning to kill her grandmother, being attacked by magic weaving vamps and feeling her world spin on its axis, Sabina has her work cut out for her and all I had to do was sit back and enjoy the ride.
One of my favorite thing about this series is that the hero is actually a nice guy. It sounds crazy when I put it like that, but in a genre where most heroes are of the anti, problematic and the not-so-clearly-a-hero kind, I find that a breath of fresh air!
As for the heroine, Jaye Wells has done a spectacular job in creating Sabina. She is the ultimate damage heroine that I love to get to know and see grow with each book and each adventure. Sabina’s growth from the selfish, temperamental lone-wolf to someone who has learned to admit that she can care for the people in her life was amazing. However, that change will definitely not be the easiest one and I can’t wait to read all about it.
All in all, Green-Eyed Demon was the perfect addition to this awesome Urban Fantasy series that I sincerely hope will be around for a long time!

Ohhhh 5 Loveys huh Larissa? I think I need to pick this series up:) I've heard it's wonderful and your review just confirms it and I like what you said bout the hero being a nice guy, so many times they're really attractive but difficult, and even though it works, it would be nice to read about someone who's just genuinely nice:)
