xoxo,
This one was really tough for me. Most of the books I read are apart of a series! Did think of some. Quite a few were YA books I read early on in my UF days. And 2 were short stories, didn't really think of it as cheating since they are in a book that isn't in a series!
I've never even heard of any of these! I'll have to check them out!
I have Impossible in my tbr thanks to Danielle too :) Looking forward to reading it. I'm going to have to think about which books I wish were part of a series - fun theme!
@Jessica
It was so hard for me too! hehe
@Mydnite
cool =D
@Patti
ooooh cool! Danielle rocks hehe
xoxo
YES! I totally agree about 'Impossible' - it would be interesting to see a couple progress with a baby in tow.
I once read a book called 'Sunshine' by Robin Mckinley that was RUINED because it finished on an open-ended cliff hanger and the author is adamant she will never do a sequel. Are you kidding me!?!? It's the number 1 question she gets asked via her website: "When will there be a sequel to 'Sunshine'?" And she flat refuses!
@Danielle
I read that book once. Can't remember all of it. I think my mind drifted off at times. But a cliffhanger sounds vaguely familiar. I can't remember all of it, but I do recall seeing that one around a lot with different covers.
But yeah, cliffhangers are the worst! Especially if there isn't going to be a followup. Nancy Holder and Debbie Viguie's YA Wicked series had 4 books when I first read them and there was a massive ultimate cliffhanger at the end of the 4th one. Months went by w/o ever a word about the next and then I found out that the series had been canceled!
Luckily in 09, I think...they finally were able to pick up the series and write the last book, so I had to go back and re-read all 4.
But yeah, that's a totally different story! :)
@Danielle
exactly! I'd love to see that couple progress with they kid =D
@Danielle & Jessica
I never heard of Sunshine...
But cliffhanger are such a killer!! and if a series is canceled b4 it has a chance to answer all the q's thats definitely a bummer =/
HA! I'm a series whore too, so you're not alone. I almost read series exclusively because I like knowing I'll have another book set in a world I love so much:) You have some interesting choices on that list, ones I'm not super familiar with so I'm off to look them up!
@Jenny
Me too!! I like knowing I can keep reading about the same world or characters! =D
I haven't read any of those so can't comment. As for my own choices..hm what would those be. Tough question
Pfew, this was a hard one!
Somehow I buy books, thinking they are single book, not part of a series, but later on become series.
And I just love series. So yeah this one was very hard!
I did my best today!
I really can't think of any. Oh way Beneath a Moutain Moon by Silver Ravenwolf. But that's from years ago. This is tough. x
Okay... I haven't read any of these... so I need to put them on my wishlist. I think I'd have a hard time coming up with 5. Great job!
@Blodeuedd
hehe It not easy =P
@Kyanara
hahahah I know the feeling LOL
@Susan
hahahha I think this has been the thoughest theme yet LOL
@Melissa
Thanks hon! =D
I think that this might be my most favourite Top 5 Theme yet! Like Melissa I have never heard of any of these books/ series before, so I should def. check them out!
;)
@Avery
YAY! cool =D Thanks!
This one was hard! I always end up buying series I guess haha
Good choice for the theme. It was actually pretty difficult. I had to go through my Read list to come up with five. I very seldom read a stand alone novel that I really had to dig.
Thanks for hosting :)
@BookGirl
Me too LOL
@Megan
I had to do the same thing hehe =D
Thanks!
Looove your choices!! THe covers are sooo pretty! I haven't had the pleasure of reading them myself but these are deifinitely on my list! Thank you for sharing hon xoxo!
Great post! Wow I never realized how little stand alone novels I read until you made me think about it! Not sure if I can come up with 5 off the top of my head...
@Moonlight
Thanks! =D
@Carmel
I thought it was gonna be easier LOL
