*Update on the Books that meet the requirements for the challenge! =)
Hey everyone! Ok, so after this year’s challenge fiasco, I had decided not to host any challenges for 2011. I decided to host a couple challenges right when I started book blogging at the end of 2009. But I failed miserably and made an utter fool of myself by not following through with the monthly posts, so people could share their reviews and even with the couple prizes I promised. I didn’t even follow through with the challenges I entered in myself… so, it was an all out fiasco =/
I learned a lot from my mistakes. This year I am not joining in any challenges, when it comes to reading, I’ll do my own thing and follow my own drum, I certainly work better this way. However, a few minutes ago I had an idea for a challenge and I haven’t seen anything like it anywhere, so I decided to host it, even though I probably won’t participate in it… I will PROMISE to follow through and make available posts so you can share your reviews and opinions! I might even giveaway some books and swag through out the year!
Welcome to…
THE INTERNATIONAL READING CHALLENGE 2011!
What?
As an International Book Blogger that blogs and reads in English, I have noticed that finally, a LOT of the books and authors we love so much are starting to get published or are already published in various different languages all around the world.
The idea for this challenge is for you to read:
- Books that even though, have originally been published in ENGLISH have also been published INTERNATIONALLY!
- Books that are set in Different Countries than the one where the Heroine/Hero is based.
- Books where the Heroine/Hero is Based somewhere other than the country where the book was originally published.
You can read them in the original language or in the translation you choose.
So, for example, if you are a German blogger, you can read the book in German or in English… It’s YOUR choice!

@Moonlight
Thanks! I so understand hehe Glad you liked the idea =D
What a wonderful idea! I'm cutting down on the number of challenges I'm in as well this year-I went overboard last year!!! I'll try to get the word out for this challenge. :)
@Buckeye Girl
Thanks hon! You rock!
I love this challenge. I'd love to participate. Regarding most of my book are translated from the English version.
I'll leave the link in Mr Linky as soon as I have posted the challenge on my blog
This is actually an awesome idea! Your problem was hosting too many challenges, mine was trying to do too many! I failed miserably as well!
I'm two classes away from getting my Spanish minor, and I read the language pretty well, so it's always been one of my goals to pick up some YA books in Spanish and read them. Maybe I'll make that a goal for myself this year?
@Aleetha
Thats great! Hope to have you sign up soon then =D
@Natalie
Thats so cool! I didnt know that! Congrats! and I think this a great way to practice =D
Super freaking awesome idea! I'm totally in.

Good luck with your challenge! I have so many ideas for challenges, but I just created one and I'm doing two others. I know I have to limit myself. : )
@Mydnite

Quick question: Can books read for this challenge count towards other challenges as well?
Thanks,
