Seventeen-year-old Amy joins her parents as frozen cargo aboard the vast spaceship Godspeed and expects to awaken on a new planet, three hundred years in the future. Never could she have known that her frozen slumber would come to an end fifty years too soon and that she would be thrust into the brave new world of a spaceship that lives by its own rules.
Amy quickly realizes that her awakening was no mere computer malfunction. Someone—one of the few thousand inhabitants of the spaceship—tried to kill her. And if Amy doesn’t do something soon, her parents will be next.
Now, Amy must race to unlock Godspeed’s hidden secrets. But out of her list of murder suspects, there’s only one who matters: Elder, the future leader of the ship and the love she could never have seen coming.

Across the Universe |
What would you do if your parents were planning on being frozen for the next 300 years and sent aboard a spaceship to another planet? Would you join them and leave your whole life behind or would you stay and never see your parents again? That is the choice that Amy has to make right when the novel begins and it is the beginning of an incredible journey.
We follow Amy throughout her choice, and then when she almost dies waking up on the ship many years ahead of schedule. But before she wakes up, we meet Elder. A sixteen-year-old boy who is set to be the next leader of the society that lives within the spaceship where Amy and her parents are frozen.
Across the Universe is told from the POVs of Amy and Elder, and it is very interesting to get inside such different minds. Amy represents the world we live in now and it is amazing to see how this society lives inside a spaceship and how 200+ years have affected them.
I loved this book! It was definitely a surprise for me to enjoy it this much, specially since I have been avoiding YA novels for a while. However, Across the Universe captured my heart and I couldn’t put it down for a second until I had sucked in every last page of it.
A spaceship full of secrets, a racist Eldest, a weird society and murders happening exponentially along with the journey of a girl and boy so different that they start to make perfect sense. Across the Universe is such an amazing and original read that I can’t praise enough. Beth Revis has done an incredible job with her debut novel and I guarantee that you will enjoy it too!

xoxo,
I'm curious about this book! I read a few reviews already but I'm honestly not so into Alien/Space stories.
But the cover is soooo beautiful and you gave it 5 loveys!
I think I have to read it now...
That's the thing, there aren't really aliens in the story... though it is set in space =D
I think you'd love it!
I sort of been glossing over this book when I first started seeing it in the blogosphere because I got so many books to read already! But after reading your review, I might have to reconsider :)
Thanks for the great review! You convinced me to add this to my wishlist. Something about the book just didn't grab my attention before, but you made it sound like a very interesting read.
