Feared even by her own kind for her mastery of fire, the Nightwalker Mira is summoned by the Coven to take her rightful place as Elder. But with this honor comes grave responsibility—a commitment to the annihilation of the unleashed naturi. For now the foul creatures walk the earth—and neither vampire nor human will survive their horrific onslaught.
A tide of blood is sweeping relentlessly across the European continent, as Mira is dispatched to Budapest for the most devastating test yet of her astonishing powers—and falls into a well-laid trap. With the dark secrets that haunt her growing darker by the hour, she must confront the terrible truth of her past and protect her fragile sanity in the face of unanticipated treachery—a betrayal by her ally, her enemy, her lover…the vampire slayer, Danaus.

Wait for Dusk (Dark Days, Book 5) |
*Contains spoiler if you haven’t read the previous books in the series.
After the killer cliffhanger that Jocelynn Drake left us with in Pray For Dawn, I was dying to get my hands on Wait For Dusk and I was NOT disappointed with it!
Wait For Dusk starts off right when Pray For Dawn ended and we get to find out what the heck happened to Mira pretty quickly and it is a doozy. We get to meet Mira’s real father and he has plans for her, plans that include using Danaus and go against everything our dear Mira believes in.
From them on we embark on a non-stop roller coaster that left me stunned and really excited to find out where the series is going next. Mira finally becomes an official member of the Vampire council and has to deal with Naturi attacks in Europe and has Danaus and Mira falling for a trap and creating Mayhem in Egypt.
Danaus and Mira’s relationship definitely evolves in this book, as you can see by the cover, but it is much more complicated. The real appeal of Wait For Dusk for me was the emotional journey that Mira and Danaus go through. They are the ultimate Romeo and Juliet, but I can’t help to hope that they will make it work. I love seeing them together and you can just tell that they do care a lot about each other.
Another amazing installment in this wonderful series. Jocelynn Drake has done it again and has given us an exceptional book. I cannot wait for the next one in the series! Is is 2011 already?

xoxo,
Okay, I completely cheated and glossed over your review because I haven't read the 4th book yet and went straight to your rating. Now I'm very excited to get caught up! I really enjoyed the first 3 books and I love that these 2 were released close together so I don't have to wait at all:)
hehe thats cool hon!
ooooh if you enjoyed the first 3 books, you'll love bks 3 and 4... soooo good!!!
I have the first 2 books in this series, but I never knew if there was a romance element because the covers never hinted... until this one! Now with your Romeo and Juliet comment I'm definitely going to start reading.
Great review!
@Danielle
Thanks hon!!

Great review! I loved this one and it soooo doesn't help when Jocelynn says on her blog that she loves the cover for the next one the most. I thought this one was pretty intense!
Can't wait to read Burn the Night either, I think I saw a release date of 7/15/11 on Goodreads. Too long of a wait if you ask me!
I have enjoyed these books. I love the Dark UF. Really looking forward to the next one.
