Hey Guys! I’m happy to start off this Monday with a great news and an amazing opportunity for all my wonderful readers.
Janet, the wonderful and talented mind behind Cadsawan Jewelry, contacted me about becoming an affiliate with my blog. I was so flattered and of course I said YES!
Not only that, but she is also offering a lucky reader an amazing NEW and never before seen piece of her great collection. How freaking cool is that? I’ll show you the prize and give you the giveaway deets at the end of the post, so pay attention =)
First I’d like to introduce Janet a little bit:
Janet Cadsawan’s philosophy is that jewelry is magic adorned. She designs one-of-a-kind talismans, fine jewelry and supernatural baubles. Her pieces are showcased in both art galleries and fine jewelry stores. Born through her passion for nature and architecture, her pieces are like miniature sculptures.
I also am going to let Janet tell us a little bit about how she started this amazing business:
“Somewhere between hard work, fate, coincidence, connections and books I became a jewelry designer. I wanted to be an author, but that's where fate and coincidence came in. Around 2002, I was burnt out. I was in a start-up that failed. Then, I had raised capital for my tech start-up, but the dot.com crash came. All of a sudden, I was sleeping 8 hours a day, and every day seemed exactly the same to me. What an opportunity! I began writing - actually I have an unpublished novel that I still kind of like, but has been put to rest. That novel introduced me to jewelry design. Working with one's hands is so different than working with one's mind - for me it was liberating. I developed my collection in 18k gold and it was accepted and sold well from 2004 - 2008 – until the economy crashed again. Luckily, this time, it didn't phase me at all. It was like riding a bicycle – just get back on and start peddling. And just as before, when I thought no one was ever going to buy gold again, books saved me again. I really owe Charlaine Harris a lot because it was her Southern Vampire series that brought me to HBO's True Blood. People ask me all the time how I got my pieces on the show, and my answer is that I emailed the costume designer, Audrey Fisher. So, I guess my writing is somewhat persuasive. A year later after my pieces debuted, I am here making supernatural baubles, talismans and pieces that are inspired by fictional characters. For now, life is good!
And, for all those creative types out there that are feeling the pinch of reality, all I can say is read books and go for it!”
You can find Janet and The Cadsawan Jewelry Online:
She has such amazing pieces! True Blood and Morganville Inspired pieces, along with so much more!
Now, I KNOW you guys are dying for the Giveaway, so…
You have the chance to win the NEWEST piece in Janet’s collection:
It’s a necklace based on the Ceremonial Knife Eric Northman Gives to Sookie
in the Sookie Stackhouse Mystery Series!
Isn’t it Gorgeous and Shiny?
Here’s what Janet has to say about this new piece:
“I am happy to announce the Ceremonial Knife, and I'm giving one away here! It has been a highly controversial element in Charlaine Harris's Sookie Stackhouse novels. It helped create the blood bond and it sealed the vampire marriage between Eric and Sookie. What inspired me to make this was that a ceremonial knife symbolizes union and also separation - it is, after all, an instrument that severs. We're still not sure about the fate of Eric and Sookie, but this knife is, at least, a sublime symbol of being bonded by blood.”

I would so love Tessa's clockwork angel from Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare! Thanks for the contest :)
kaitlynkline[at]gmail[dot]com
I would like to see a guitar pendant to represent Michael in the Morganville series by Rachel Caine.
I would like to see the jewelry That Rose's mom gave her in the Vampire Academy series
Great post and I have to say that I love the jewelry. Truely it is a gift to have a vision and be able to somehow make it into a piece of art, especially wearable art as I've always thought jewelry to be.
These are so many different objects and elements out of my favorite series I'd love to see made real in jewelry. Like the modified medic symbol on Larissa Ione's books or the special items and swords in Chloe Niell's Chicagoland vampire series. There are also special necklaces in Faith Hunter's Jane Yellowrock series and Lori handeland's Phoenix Chronicles.
I'll be keeping an eye on your jewelry from now on and maybe I'll be lucky enough to see some of those come to life through your creations.
Thanks for entering me in your contest.
I'd have to say the pendant on the cover of Kelley Armstrong's Otherworld. It seems to be a running theme on several covers. :)

Swinks!!
I would like something inspired by Kim Harrison's Rachel Morgan series. Like her charms from A Fistful of Charms.
Larissa can I have my 10 entries here please? I got to see this piece earlier tonight when Swinks unveiled it. Beautiful!!
Her jewelry is lovely!! Thank you for the contest!!
I would like to see Hermione's Time Turner from Harry Potter!
I like what commenter KitNLuv said. Something inspired from the Hollows series by Kim Harrison. Rachel is always carrying around charms of some sort and she also had a bracelet as a gift from Kisten. A couple of other characters had the bracelets to but wore them as anklets. I think that would be cool.
I would love to see the pendant from Chloe Saunders in the Darkest Power series from Kelley Armstrong. Also if I may add I would love to see Ever's talisman from Alyson Noël's Immortals series.
Thank you so much for the giveaway!
I would love to see jewelry inspired by Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter series. There is already some available, but I'd like to the Dark Hunter double bow symbol as a pendant, and Ash's symbol as well (something different than the one's on her site). Also, I love all of Janet's stuff, especially her True Blood pieces. Another excellent creation.
Well, naturally, anything else that is Eric-inspired is HIGH on my list of must-haves (or inspired by Alexander Skarsgard naturally). :)
But, I also would put in a plug for Claire Randall Frasier's ring from Jamie in the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon.
My daughter would love anything from the Rick Riordan series.
Your jewelry ROCKS, Janet!!
I would love to see something from Kelley Armstrong. I know they just changed the symbol on the covers, so either one. Or the lamb that Mercy Thompson wears in the Patricia Briggs books.

I would love a coyote print inspired by the Mercy Thompson series as an ankle braclet :) I love ankle braclets :)
I would love to see something from Gone With the Wind or Scarlett. maybe something Irish inspired or inspired by Rhett. perhaps a 'my dear, I don't give a damn' bracelet or something.
here's hoping for something from the Fever series & the Black Dagger Brotherhood too, Janet ;)
Hmm...tough choice. I do look for similar items out and about. I've found a pendant similar to Kelley Armstrong's Otherworld series, I found a smaller version of her Darkest Powers one that Chloe wears when it was red. I have a charm bracelet for Kim Harrison that I bought from her website. I have a choker that Faythe wears in Rachel Vincent's series. Soooo like I said, I look for these things! ;)
I would like a necklace Merit wears in Chloe Neill's Chicagoland Vampires. Even though it's not jewelry, a stone similar to the one Jessie carries in Shannon Delany's 13 to Life.
Off to fill out the form!
I would like to see something inspired by Karen M Moning's Fever series such as the spear or stones. Also the double bow & arrow from the Dark Hunter series would be good.
The lamb from Patricia Briggs Mercy books would be neat...:)
I am a follower and email subscriber. I would like to see the Vampire Diaries have some jewelry. Tore923@aol.com
I would love to see the symbol on the cover of The Hunger Games to be made into a piece of jewelry. It's a big part of the book and I'd love to have something like that!
Becca, I almost got the rights for Mockingjay but alas a large company landed it. I'm hoping to do the Mockingjay pin for the movie :) Janet
Mac's sidhe-seer symbol from the Fever series would be cool! Or Barron's symbol!
The Hunger Games would be awesome, too! Along with anything Clockwork Angel!
Larissa, Janet! This is the BEST contest ever!!! If I win that ceremonial knife, I will hunt down Eric and exchange blood with him!
Thank you so much!
Oh! Just thought of another one! There is some awesome mythology and symbols in Shadow Hills by Anastasia Hopcus. You should definitely consider that book!
The Demon Caduceus from Larissa Ione's Demonica series would be great as a pendant or bracelet charm :D
I would love to see some jewelry based on Karen Marie Moning's Darkfever and/or Highlander series. Also would love to see something inspired by Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter series and J.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood books. :)
Dean's necklace from Supernatural!
The lamb from the Mercy Thompson books would be nice. Or the walking stick from the same series. :D
I would love jewelery from the Black Jewels series by Anne Bishop. :)

I would love to see a Mockingjay pin made or a Mockingjay pendant from The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins! That would be awesome!
sena.sagani [at]gmail[dot]com

aikychien at yahoo dot com
Sena & Aik, Scholastic is giving a Mockingjay pin with the book, I believe. I'll find the link and share it with you! Janet
There are just so many I'd like, but if I have to choose, then I'd like one of the wards from Peter V Brett's series The Demon Cycle! I just love how they look :)

Ooh, most definitely Fang's mysterious wings (Maximum Ride series by James Patterson), though I don't think it's counted as an object.
That or Kate Daniels's (series by Ilona Andrews) 'Slayer'. I'd love to see how sharp the sword could be :)
"The Ring" from Lord of the rings trilogy ! lol

First off, I just have to say I LOVE Janet's jewelry! My dear friend Mare got me one of the Bones bracelets for my birthday, and it's is just beautiful!
Since I know Janet is s fellow Night Huntress fan, I think I'd like to see something inspired by Cat's blood read diamond ring.
Thanks for the contest!
Kristin
I would like all of the jewelry in the Vampire Diaries show to be made into a collection. I know there are clay and silvertone and silver versions of Elena's vervain necklace, but I would like a silver one that opens to place vervain in that isn't ridiculously expensive or even a silvertone one that can carry vervain for a budget-conscious version. I also like Jeremy's bracelet. They've got necklaces and rings on the vampires, too.
I'm heading over to fill out the form now.

I would like to see jewelry inspired by the Atlantis series by Alyssa Day.
beckerjo(at)verizon(dot)net
I would love to see a necklace made with a dagger pendant for the BDB. I would wear it. :)
My choice would have to be the Pendant from Lesley Livingston series Wondrous Strange. Kelley's green amber pendant (lol doesn't have to be amber but resemble it) its pictured on the cover of Darklight. I adore the meaning of it. Or even a locket bracelet of a heart with Eric Northman picture inside that works for me!!! (I would buy it)
