“Soft shoulders and dangerous curves…
Braden can’t deny he’s always wanted Chelsea, but getting involved wouldn’t be fair. She has college and big dreams ahead of her—he has no desire to leave Jaffrey’s Cove. Plus, there’s the fact merfolk women often take more than one lover. Share her? Not in this lifetime.
When Chelsea’s plans for the future fall apart, the only bright spot remaining is Sheriff Braden Marley. She’s been angling for a shot at the gentle giant’s heart—and the rest of him—for a long time. Except he not only holds her at a maddening arm’s length, he somehow manages to keep other men away, too.
Enter Jamie Powell, a human marine archeologist who’s in town for a cataloging project. His instant chemistry with Chelsea inspires her to try a sexy new tactic: make Braden jealous enough to stop dragging his feet and start leaving his shoes under her bed.
The ensuing storm generates a boatload of complications none of them saw coming. A forbidden attraction no amount of merfolk magic can erase. And the danger that their secrets could be exposed to the outside world…
Warning: Seductive shimmering lights, a sexy interlude on the strip club floor, mysterious Spanish lovers, and a trio caught in an eddy of intense sexual attraction. Swim at your own risk.”

Whirlpool: Forces of Nature, Book 2 |
After describing Tidal Wave as HOT, I feel I need more words to describe Whirlpool, since hot is not enough. How about smoldering, sizzling, on fire HOT? That’s more like it. I have loved Vivian Arend’s style for a while now and Granite Lake Wolves series is one of my favorite sexy paranormal reads.
However, her Forces of Nature series takes it all to a whole new level. Vivian explore three-way relationships in this series and she does a great job at it. I’m not talking about a one-time, fantasy realizing night; I mean actual loving relationships.
I really enjoyed the first in the series, Tidal Wave, but Whirlpool took it to a whole new level for me, because it explored the relationship between the two men involved in the ménage as well.
Chelsea is a member of the Jeffrey’s Cove pod, but she has always dreamed of going away to college. Because of events out of her control she can’t afford it anymore and to make matters worse she has to housesit for the new Matriarch, Alexia, of the pod with the man she has desired all her life and who keeps rejecting her.
Brenden is Jeffrey Cove’s Sheriff and his life has just gotten more complicated when the new Matriarch of his people left on her honeymoon. He now has to share a house with the woman of his dreams, who he has being trying to resist for a long time so that she can have her dreams.
When Jamie, an archeologist hired to catalogue Alexia’s grandfather’s collections, rolls up into town and into Chelsea’s and Brenden lives, things just get more complicated because Jamie is human and he can’t know about the merfolk, but both Chelsea and Brenden feel a strong attraction to him and they can’t seem to have it in them to deny it for long.
Whirlpool is not a whodunit and it doesn’t have any kick-ass heroines or heroes, but it is nonetheless a delightful quick read that will have you fanning yourself in no time and sporting an easy smile on your face.
I loved the pent up tension between Chelsea and Brenden, they have had the hots and feelings for each other for a long time, but merfolk nature dictates that the women have needs that tend to taking more than one partner and he didn’t want to share her.
Jamie was the perfect addition to this couple and I loved that there was actual attraction between him and brenden and the ménage relationship wasn’t solely focused on Chelsea. It gave the whole story a new depth and I simply loved the chemistry that the two men share, sometimes even more than when Chelsea was with them sometimes.
Whirlpool is a fun, light and sexy read that I definitely recommend to any and all Paranormal Erotica readers out there. This was my favorite in the series so far I just hope Vivian has more in store for us, ‘cause damn, the woman can write a sexy threesome.

xoxo,
I just love this series! Like you I really liked that there was chemistry between Jamie and Braden, not just the two guys and Chelsea.
I didn't know that there was a third book coming out-I can't wait for it. I am totally buying this series when it releases in print.
Its not really a third book, not yet anyways... that is the cover for the Print antho =)))
xoxo
I have heard soooo many good things about these two books of the series so far -- namely that they're very yummy! Tidal Wave has been on my TBR for quite some time, I just need to pull it off so I can get to Whirlpool. I'm looking forward to seeing the m/m development in that one!
Great review!
oooooh you can totally read this one without reading Tidal wave =)
I hope you love it!
xoxo
Thanks for the review Larissa!
