“Lillian Hunt has never truly lived. Always sensing more to the world than is easily perceived, she fears that her instincts are stubborn flights of fancy, or worse, mental instability. But some things—disappearing strangers, tangible dreams, and visits from malevolent creatures—cannot be ignored. Before it's too late, Lillian is ripped from the only existence she’s ever known and thrust into a reality that she always suspected, but could scarcely believe. She must learn the truth about who she is, the powerful beings that wish to destroy her, and the two men who would die to protect her.
Jennifer DeLucy has created a unique, enchanting tale of destiny and the ageless power of love in her debut novel, Seers of Light. DeLucy's novel charms readers with quirky characters, while sketching a haunting portrait of one woman's journey on the path of the supernaturally gifted. But be prepared. Once you've entered the world of Seers, you will never be the same.”

Seers of Light |
I have to admit that I was utterly surprised by how much i liked Seers of Light. When i got approached about reviewing I thought it looked like a cute novel but I did not expect much to be quite honest and I am really glad that I was proven wrong.
Lilian Hunt is part of a world full of unimaginable power and dangers, but when we meet her in the beginning of the novel she has no idea about that and has been trying to live a normal life when strange things start to happen. Lilian only gets to find out about the world she belongs to when she is attacked by a vampire in the forest and a man named Christian saves her and claims to be there to “retrieve” her.
Reluctantly and at the same time curious to know more, Lilian goes with him and that’s when she discovers that she has been trying to be normal her whole life when she has been nothing but normal all along.
While I did really enjoy this book I had a hard time warming up to Lilian, there was a point in the story that i actually hated her and her self-righteous behavior. She let herself be influenced by other people’s opinions too easily in lieu of making her own and that really pissed me off. Her behavior was childish and disgusting towards Vampire with a soul, William, and more than once I just wanted to beat some sense into her.
She did end up getting a grip and realizing what an a** she was being and even though I ended up disliking her much less by the end of Seers of Light, her previous behavior has definitely stuck with me, since I hate any kind of prejudice.
Vampires are the villain du jour in this new series and they are vicious little creatures that made my skin crawl. The society to which Lilly is a part of has been battling these creatures for a long time and they all have endowments that help them in this fight. Seers of Light counts with a cast of great side characters that really give life to the novel.
However, my favorite character in the book was the hero, William. He is just such a sweetheart and proof that you should never judge a person by their race. He is such a tortured soul that struggles to deal with his own nature and how his world sees him and at the same time he is simply a great person that you can’t help but fall in love with. I do admit that I ended up quite enjoying him and Lilly together, too cute for words.
Christian was my least favorite character for most of the novel, he annoyed me so much. But by the end of the novel i did understand his motivations even though i did not agree with them.
All in all Seers of Light was a great surprise for me and a very interesting read. I am really looking forward to the next book, since it will be Christian’s story =)

Thanks Steph =D
This one was a nice surprise for me =)
I really enjoyed the book but I had the same problems you had. Lilian should have made her own mind instead of listening to Christian.
But I loved the idea of the gifts and how they are described, it was beautiful.
Althogther I really liked the book a lot and I can't wait to read more from Jennifer Delucy.
Btw did I get it right that the next book will focus on Christian ?? Uhhooo...
Yeah i really enjoyed the gifts too =)
yep, next book will be more focused on christian!!! woot! so awesome=)
Now off to the ebook store to buy this XD AMAZING review :)
LOl awesome!!! cant wait to see what you think of it =D
Thanks for the review. I have seen this book around and have been curious about it.
My pleasure =D
I enjoyed this read. This is new to me too but sure sounds great. Thanks.
I LOVED SEERS! And I can't wait to read more from this series.
Lilian's actions may have been seen as childish, but remember she was thrust into this whole new world, and at the time Christian was her 'night in shinning armor' because he rescued her from the very first vampire she encountered. I think it was only natural that she let herself be influenced by him.
But yes, I'm so glad she opened herself up to William. He was just such a sweetheart. Gawd, I miss him. I think I'm gonna have to re-read this book soon.
I have to second Danny! I loved the gifts. Very creative writing!
Great review hun. I'm glad you were surprised!
Wow, this really sounds like a good one, even though I haven´t head anything about it yet!
It´s always great to be positivly surprised by a book rather than disappointed!

It sounds like the characters in this book are intriguing even if a bit difficult to sympathize with or relate to. Thanks for the suggestion. I'd never heard of this series before.
Thanks dor =0) My Pleasure
@Missie
I understand thar hon, but she was actually nice to william from the begining and when Christian started being an ass to him and asking her to not like him, she just went along... she is such a strong character but that behavior was so ridiculous...
LOL i cant wait for more in the series though =P
Thanks hon!
@Christine
Thanks sweetie! =)))
@Trisha

This is a nice review :) I really like the cover of the book--but you'd never guess it was about vampires. Which is totally not a bad thing--I think I love vampire stories too much, ha :] I definitely want to read this
