The first blog featured today is “The Dip Files”:
I’ll let Hilda tell us a bit about how and why she started blogging & what she loves and hates about it:
"Hi everyone, my name is Hilda and I'm the proud blogger for The Dip Files. I started blogging in 2009 after reading Larissa Ione's books. She was such an inspiration, I started getting involved on the blogosphere and eventually decided to start my own blog.
I've had my ups and downs and to this day I'm still struggling to become a full time blogger. Or as committed as possible anyways.
My blog is vampire themed because I've always felt identified with them. You might find my blog to be a little different from what you are used to. I don't stick to just talking about books but also movies and sometimes even my day to day (but I try to keep it entertaining). Also, I rarely ever write reviews. I find that I am very bad at remembering details and summarizing. This might be cause I always read more than one book at a time and because I'm a really distrait person. Like, REALLY. Generally I just talk about what I liked or didn't like about a book and will say if I recommend it.... or not.
I love reading, I love writing and I love blogging. It's been one hell of a ride and I sure hope to become a better blogger in the future and be able to entertain and inform as much people as possible.
Stop by,
I don't bite.... hard. ;)
Bite On,
Hilda"

The second blog featured today is “Proud Book Nerd”:
I’ll let Heather tell us a bit about how and why she started blogging & what she loves and hates about it:
“I have always loved reading. I loved it so much that I ended up getting a degree in English (lit). I got a job working as a copy editor, and that (combined with required reading for my degree) stole my love of reading. I just couldn't get into reading anything. I wanted to NOT read on my days off! Then I discovered the Left Behind series. While the writing quality isn't very good, I was able to overlook that because the plot hooked me. After that, it was Harry Potter. Still, though, I didn't have much interest in reading beyond those. Then came The Crown Conspiracy by Michael J. Sullivan. I don't know what it was, but that book got me back into reading and I haven't stopped since! I started writing reviews on Goodreads.com for books that I won through their First Reads program. Then I started sharing my thoughts on other books I read. Then I started putting those on my personal blog. Before I knew it, my personal blog was getting cluttered, and Proud Book Nerd was born. It's my spin-off blog! And I just love it. The book-blogging community is so welcoming, friendly, and supportive. I'm so glad I found my way here! Proud Book Nerd is mostly reviews, some giveaways, and some thoughtful posts about reading in general. And, of course, the reading-related memes are there, too! ;-) The downside: Not saying no. I love to read, and I'm always happy to discover new authors (or at least new to me), so when I have a chance to review something that sounds interesting I almost always say yes. Then, of course, I find myself overbooked (pardon the pun), and panicking. So, for me, the worst part is learning to say no. Learning that I simply cannot read everything that comes my way. Not only that, but if I try, then I don't have time to read books I choose simply because I want to read them – like The Host or the Percy Jackson series. That is really the only thing I don't like (well, that and negative response to a negative review I wrote). Otherwise, I really love book blogging. It's fun, fulfilling, and full of adventure!”
