Hey Guys! So, I’m realizing one of my biggest dreams next month and going to my first book conference to boot!
I’m spending 10 days in the U.S., mostly with one of my best friends that I haven’t seen in 6 years and then I’m going to the Authors After Dark Weeking in New Jersey, I am SO excited!
I am also having Bookmarks made to give away during the weekend!
They will be gorgeous!
Now the thing is that I have some things that I absolutely am craving to do in NYC, even though I’m not going to be able to go there a lot, I still wanna do a lot of things.
So, I wanted to get your input my lovely readers!
Other than the Obvious landmarks and museums,
Which Places, Foods…
are a MUST in my trip???
and I also wanted to know if any of my lovely readers and fellow bloggers live near NYC; Newburgh, NY; NJ or are going to be around between September 10th & 19th??
I would love to meet you!
Besides, do any of you know of Book signings around that time in those areas??

Oh my!
I just wanted to say I'm INCREDIBLY jealous of you, but hopefully I'll follow your footsteps soon ;)
Good luck on your trip, have fun, if I hear about any signings there, I'll let you know ^^
Get some NYC pizza...anywhere....the best around.
Bagels....awesome stuff.
I'm in the NYC area. let me know. :)
That's awesome! Your going to have so much fun. I've only been once so I can't give any ideas of things to do.
That's great! You should visit the Strand Bookstore in NYC, it's amazing!
I miss NYC so much. I was there at the end of April visiting a bunch of SVM FF girls. It's so beautiful.
You have to go to Tea and Sympathy http://www.teaandsympathynewyork.com/home.php trust me it's a must. And Babouche in Brooklyn http://www.babouchenyc.com/. Oh and have ice cream at Il Laboratorio del Gelato http://www.laboratoriodelgelato.com/
If you want I can hook you up with some of the girls. You probably already know some of them. Barbara and Missie knows them too.
Ok, kicking myself. I thought the AAD was the same weekend as my college reunion. But it's not, I'm so mad for not checking the dates.
I live in PA so this wouldn't have been far for me. :(
Hope you have tons of fun!
I'm a new follower and looking forward to reading your posts. But I wanted to say that I'm going to my first book convention too and it's AAD.
I'd like to meet you.
Hey, congratulations! I hope you have lots of fun. No matter what you do in NYC, I"m sure you'll enjoy it. Just walking around is exciting and entertaining - bring comfortable shoes. And visiting other bloggers and readers and writers, there is nothing like it!
Hey Larissa,
I almost signed up for that AAD conference, but I was too late. Oh well.
I live about an hour from NYC and 40 minutes from Newburgh. I have a spreadsheet of restaurants, but what I can think off the top of my head is frozen hot chocolate at Serendipity's on the East Side.
I couldn't find your e-mail, to send you the spreadsheet so e-mail me at midnytereader@gmail.com. I would love to meet with you if scheduling works out on both ends, but if not, I know you will have a wonderful time!
Have fun! You will be SO CLOSE.... I wanted to go to AAD as well, but had a commitment already. BOO! Safe journeys and enjoy yourself!!
I am so jealous. I 've never been to NYC. :( Hope to go next year though.
oh wow! you guys are so freaking awesome!!
I am really excited about this trip, I really appreciate the well wishes and the tips!!
xoxo
I would love to go back to New York. Not in my budget though. Have fun and post pictures. I want to see what you visit and how your trip went :)
Larissa!! OMG!!!!! I live in Jersey City, 15 min away from both NYC and Seacacus, NJ! But, the conference is closed?!? I didn't catch the news about this and now I'm really sad!! What to do? I'd love to meet up with you though sometime during that week!! *hugs*
Definitely check out the Strand Bookstore www.strandbooks.com
Another fun bookstore is Kinokuniya which is across the street from Bryant Park. It is a Japanese bookstore but a lot of books are in English and there are a ton of cute gift items.
Hi, I'm a new follower. I live in NJ if you want any information.
I've been to Rio many years ago and still have fund memories.

I'm going to check out AAD...
I live in NY, you can shoot me an e-mail. My contact info is on my blog, Fantasy Fanatic. fantasticfantasyfan.blogspot.com
You MUST visit the Strand bookstore while you're there. And there's an awesome gelato place, too. They're expensive, but they have a million free samples. They're called Screme` and they're attached to the wax museum, Madame Tusodes. (Another place to visit.)
I have an award for you. *smiles* Come on over and get it when you can.
More awesome tips!!! Thanks so much guys!! =)))
Hope you have a blast Larissa! It sounds like loads of fun! :D
Oh wow! I hope you have a wonderful time in the big NY! I have never been there, so I am no help with places to eat or visit. But I hope you share with us some of your great experiances. :)
