Hey Everyone! It’s Friday YAY! LOL
I don’t know about any of you but even though I am a firm believer in always looking forward in life, sometimes it’s cool to reminisce and think about the past. In this case I’m talking about my blogging past. I love to go back to the beginning and re-reading some of my earlier posts to see where my mind was at that period of time. That’s where the idea for Flashback Friday came from.
So, from now on, every Friday I’ll look back to some moment in time, being it an year, two years or six months, share a post from that week and comment on it, talking about if I still have the same opinion or laugh about how stupid I sounded.
You guys are more than welcome to join in… I’ll add Mr. linky at the bottom so you can share your post and feel free to use the image above =)
The only thing I ask is that you you mention and link back to me on your Flashback Friday post.
Since today is July 16th, I’m going back 16 months on my blog archive. Here’s my post for March 11th, 2009:
Wow... that is such a corny title, but I like it :P Purim was a couple days ago and with came the time to dress up in costumes and party like there is no tomorrow (I'm pretty sure that is NOT how the bible explained it, but that's how I see it lol) I love costumes parties and I was just thinking about the criteria we use to chose our costumes... For the past 4 years I have been dressing up as a vampire for Purim and/or Halloween... Every time someone asks me why, I respond saying that those are the only nights of the year that I can be myself... Though I have to admit I don't mean that literally, there is some truth to that... Whenever we come to a point that we need to chose a costume, we dig deep within ourselves and sometimes let out hidden characteristics of our personalities... One might argue that since I am addicted to vampire novels (I plan to write about that soon), dressing up as one would be the next step... However, the point we should focus on is WHY I am addicted in these novels in the first place... I LOVE the night, I have always felt more at home beneath the stars... I'm weird in a way, I feel like I don't fit in with what most people call "normal"... not that it bothers me, but it's true... Vampires are outsiders by nature and that's how I have always felt... I connect with them in a deeper level and to be quite honest blood doesn't taste bad (not that I have tasted any other than my own, by accident) and I love biting :P I promise I'm not trying to freak anyone out... but this is my platform and I'll make use of it as I please :P If you could have the costume of your dreams, what would that be???”
Oh my! How appropriate… Over an year later and I still do, feel and say the same things I mentioned LOL Does that make me predictable or reliable??
Now, I ask you guys the same question I posed on that post:
If you could have the costume of your dreams, what would that be?
I’m still a vamp at heart and I think I always will be… what about you?
Please feel free to join… you can go back a week, a month, 9 months or an year, it doesn’t matter, just have fun with it and add your link to the post on the Mr. Linky bellow so I can check out your Flashback posts!
Thanks so much for tuning in and I’ll see you soon!
xoxo,
test!
What a fun meme you're doing, Larissa! Since I'm new, it's fun to be able to see something that you posted so long ago- kind of like I'm getting to know you even better! *hugs*
Your post is great! I've ALWAYS been fascinated with Halloween costumes, too. I also think that people have a chance to bring out their 'inner desires' through them. As for me... that's a tough one. I was often a fairy growing up, but now my inner desire would be to be able to shift, so I guess I would be going as myself! lol! I think the post by Vanessa on BWB was spot-on about the whole werewolf sex appeal thing. That says a lot about me, huh?! *giggles*
@Tanya
Thank you! =) I thought it would be fun to share some of my old posts...
LOL I have such a things for shifters so I totally get that! =))
Thanks for stopping by!
What a great idea! My blog hasn't been around for even a year yet, so I don't have much to flash back to! HAHA! But I love this concept! And I loved that post.
Costume of my dreams? Jeez, I'm not really sure...I'm a total wolf-girl at heart, but have no idea how I could ever pull off the transformation into a wolf! So maybe something that would make me feel beautiful, a Victorian era dress maybe or something kinda Steampunk-ish, and maybe I could wear high heels for the first time with out my feet looking stupid!
awww that's cool, you could maybe go back a few months even hehe =)
yeah, wolf would be hard, but stem punk sounds awesome! love it!
Hi Larissa, Flashback Friday is such a cool feature! I hope to participate in future ones.
I see that you're waiting for Mockingjay. I'd love to wait for it too but I haven't read the first two books yet. :( Hope to get started on them soon.
Anyway, enjoy your weekend and happy reading! :)
Oh, I'm an old follower.

@Josette
Thank you! hope to see you participating in the future as well!!
Oh my! you so need to read those books... soooo good!
Have a great weekend! =)
What a great post! I've always been a night person too. I love how you worded it, that you feel more comfortable under the stars. My dream costume? Hmmm. I do have a lot of costumes since I'm involved in the Halloween industry. My friend and I sewed a Haunted Mansion (from Disney) maid costume for me recently and I love it, because I love that place. But I also like vampire costumes, victorian, gothic...anything fun I guess!
aww Thanks!!
oh my! I love helping my friends make costumes, I made a vamp hunter and a black widow costume one year... sooo cool =)
I wish we had Halloween here in Brazil, the costume options are minimum =/
xoxo
Love the idea of this feature - since I'm such an oldie at it LOL
Hopefully I will remember next week :)
Larissa! This is a great idea for a meme. I know you mentioned that you have a lot of past posts that you were really proud of. This is a great way to showcase them! I can't wait to read more!
Thanks for sharing!
