"There's a new breed of soccer mom in town-with fangs.
Does drinking blood make me a bad mother? That's the question single mom Jessica Matthews faces when she wakes from a savage attack sucking on the thigh of Patrick O'Halloran, a super-hot Irish vampire who'd generously offered his femoral artery to save her from death...only to make her one of the undead.
Jessica can't rest until the beast that did this to her is caught. Meanwhile, she's having trouble committing to Patrick (in the vampire handbook, physical intimacy costs you several hundred years of being bound together) and keeping her kids in line."
Oklahoma Broken Heart is light and fun series. I read the first 5 books around the beginning of 2009 and Book 6 in January of this year right when it came out.
Broken Heart is a very small city in Oklahoma and when a bloodthirsty vampire goes mad and almost sucks dry some of the town's citizens, everything changes.
They are turned into vampires by the head of the 5 existing vampire families. Each one with its own set of powers.
That's the premise for the story of the series and in each book we follow the journey of each of these new turned vamps into their Happily Ever After.
I have to say that I love this series. Michele's writing reminds me a lot of Dakota Cassidy's and Mary Janice Davidson's style. Hilarious and sexy at the same time.
With each book the general plot and world Michele has created becomes more complex and even though there is a definite HEA in each book, IMOH they cannot be read as stand alone novels.
There is a lot of action, meet vamps, werewolves, dragons and a lot of lovin' too. The great about this series and I think what sets it apart from other PNR series is the homey feel of these characters. They were just regular people, singles parents trying to have a life and out of the sudden it changed and they had dragons flying around. That dichotomy is very entertaining read and follow.
My Favorite Book in the Series so far: Because Your Vampire Said So (Book #4), I love werewolves! =))
My least Favorite Book in the Series so far: Come Hell or High Water (Book #6). Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed the book and I am definitely looking forward to the next book, but for some reason Book 6 wasn't perfect, but I'd give it a 3.5/5 for it!
I'm so glad you review this! I had been thinking of getting the first one but wasn't sure. On my list it goes:)
Have you read Michelle Rowen yet? I just finished her books and they were great, but I think the smut level might be more like 2:)

Larrisa just last week I picked up book one at the local used book store, and I did not know it was part of a series until I read this post. I picked it up simply because it had a funny title, much like "How to Marry a Millionare Vampire" and "Sex and the Single Vampire", I really liked both of those.
@Lily
WOW such a coincidence... I love the titles of this series, I think they are awesome!!

I had never heard of this series before. It sounds a bit like Molly Harper's 'Jane Jameson', only with kids - lol.
Thanks, I'll definitely check this one out.
I love the Undead series and if the writing style is similar to MaryJanice Davidson's, I will definitely be checking out this series.
@Danielle
the writing is similar in that its very funny, but it's more to the Dakota Cassidy's books =)
@layla
it totally reminded me of it =))
Hope you enjoy it! =)
