"Thirty females of the Ophidian race have gone missing. Believed to be dead by every Archon in the states, Merrick leads a quiet and unassuming life, saving those of his race that are lost and need it most. It’s a solitary existence, one that he hates every day. He yearns for his mate, the woman he left over a decade before, and the woman who thinks him dead to this day.
When Elise Rizdon gets the official invitation to the Archon meeting in Ohio, she never expected to see the love of her life at the woman’s side, a man she was told was dead and buried. She lost him once upon a time, and she never fully recovered. Focusing on the issues, and not the man that has always made her body burn is not going to be easy.
A disturbing event is on the horizon, one that threatens all Ophidian’s and their way of life. In order to survive they will have to work together, give up old grudges and take chances on the things that matter most. Love, life and the continuation of their race."
For 15 years Elise has believed that the man that was to become her mate, was dead. Never having mated to no one else, Elise focused her life on taking care of her nest in New York and becoming a beloved and respected Archon.
John Merrick left the woman he loved years ago and, believing it would be safer for him and the love of his life, he let her and everyone else believe him dead. 15 years later, Merrick is an unofficial Archon and has been working with Ophidians without a nest (rogues) for a few years and an unexpected threat puts him face to face with the woman he could never forget.
Though I felt that this book dragged a bit in the beginning, I really enjoyed it. I love this world Stella and Audra have created and her characters are all very interesting. Besides Elise and Merrick's love story, there are a couple side tales that really catch the eye and just made me damn thirsty to read more.
Merrick is older, but hot as hell. The only thing that bothered me about him was his all so male attitude of not trusting the woman he loves and assuming he had to deal with what was keeping them apart on his own. His stubbornness cost him and Elise 15 years and it is damn irritating LOL.
Elise is such a strong character. Though it is obvious her weakness is John and the hole he left on her heart when he "died". I liked how she dealt with him when he first shows up again and I loved that though she wanted him more than ever, she was strong and demanded that he took her seriously once and for all. She seemed selfish at first and she even states that herself at times. But it is clear how much her nest and the future of her race is important to her.
I found the villain, Cristof, to be very creepy. I can't wait to see what comes up next. I loved the potential mates that we get introduced to. I have to say that Adrien and Homer are damn hot and I'm so happy that they are going to get their own books and HEA!
Though this first novel of the Ophidians is less naughty than the previous eBooks that take place in the same world. I found it very enjoyable and damn sexy too =)
I give it 4/5 Loveys
Smut Level 3.5/5 =)

I was just about to post a question about where I can buy these books. They're not on Amazon yet - but if the print version is released on January 19th , I assume that means Amazon will be selling them?
Great review - I am desperate to read these books now!
OOh such a great review to wake up to! Thank you so much for it Larissa! Merrick is a bit of the epitome of hella alpha, and he pissed me off too, but damn is he hot LOL.
Danielle: The book is in for the printing already so the preoder should go up the first week in January. Small press works a lot differently with print so they try to give it a "Street" date, but who knows, the distributor could set it for sale early.
Thanks!
