This is the second book I read by this author and I must admit that I love her work; she manages to portrait the Scottish country with so many colors, the emotions of her characters with so much agony and happiness, she can create such a distinct pattern of characters and such beautiful dialogues.
Lady Caroline is a woman of the English aristocracy running from her half-brother who wants to marry her off, she is a fearless woman who doesn’t care about the luxuries of the life she used to have in order to gain the freedom to live her life as she wish it.
Alec the earl of Glenlorne is reluctant to go to Scotland to obtain his lands and the lives of his people out of fear of disappointing them. Poverty for his people and his family is what makes Him to agree to a marriage of convenience.
Add to the mix two very determined ghosts, two lovers who were denied their chance of happiness must return and join their forces to break the curse that destroys both their descendants.
This was a very sweet book with a HEA worth for both of the main characters.
