Abigail O’Malley wants to find true love…which is about as easy as catching a leprechaun. Abigail O’Malley’s world turns upside down when a rival Irishman threatens to take her bar, an historic Savannah landmark, mere days before the start of the annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration. When she captures a leprechaun, her three wishes include his gold, fairy magic, and the mystery of her One True Love. Will Michael McKnight have time to prove he’s up to the task of granting all her wishes before the bad guys close in and destroy Abby’s dreams forever?

Three Wishes by Paula Millhouse is something very different for those who read this blog as this is a very light and dare I use the word ‘cute’ love story. Abigail is searching for her one true love and also her bar is under threat from a rival so she needs a bit of luck – fairy luck. She captures a leprechaun who is under a fairy spell himself so can they find happiness together?
I am not going to give away any spoilers but you won’t be disappointed at all.
I’m going to use the word ‘cute’ again as this is such a cute story and it’s all quite funny, leprechauns are funny though aren’t they? Well this one certainly was. The book has a certain rom-com aspect to it and I found it really easy to read and I finished it all in one sitting which was good as the sooner I was getting to the end I was hoping nothing would distract me.
You might have thought that because of the fairy aspect that this book could be for kids but there is a sex scene towards the end which is definitely not for kids eyes! Actually the very hot scene might have tainted the book a bit for me as whilst I love a good load of sexy stuff, I think a more romantic scene would have been better fitting with the rest of the story. I was strangely more shocked than I thought I would be
I did really enjoy this short read and if it wasn’t for the sex scene feeling unsuitable this would have been a 5 but it drops to a 4 as I felt it spoilt the feel of the story. The sex scene on its own would get a 5 though ;)
