On My Wishlist [#4] + Bonus Story =)

Hey guys, How is everyone doing? I can't believe it is the middle of the week already. That is so awesome, specially this week. Now it is only a couple days until we get to enjoy the Smut Slut Fest. I just can't wait for it! It's going to be so amazing...

This week On My Wishlist, I will only be posting one book that I really crave at the moment. Why? You might ask me... Well, me and Sagi from Sagi's Randomness had a little adventure at the mall today and I would like to share that story with you, along with some pics to illustrate it =)

On My Wishlist this week is "First Drop of Crimson" by Jeaniene Frost. This book is a spin off of Frost's amazing Night Huntress series and I am dying to get my hands on it. I am pre-ordering it tomorrow from amazon and I'm actually ordering 2 c

opies. Do you guys know what that means??? No?? Come on, guess... It means that there will be one copy of First Drop of Crimson to giveaway here. Yep, that's right! I can't wait for that!

Story time I guess lol.

I needed to stop by the mall where I got Baby Bones (My mini-laptop) today, so they could change the windows xp that is installed from Hebrew to English. I know some hevrew, but it is really annoying to have to guess most of the stuff.

So, we get there and the manager (the guy who sold it to me) wasn't there and they couldn't do it. Sagi and I decided to check out the bookstore. The thing is that, here in Israel, it's almost impossible to find Urban Fantasy, Paranormal Romance, Smut, Paranormal YA and so on. You can find the odd book around, but it usually is the third in a series or something like that. For that reason I gave up on finding my favorite books here, and also it is more expensive to buy it here than to buy it on amazon.

Well, I was really surprise to get to the "English" section of the Bookstore and find a bunch of

new books around and a bunch of UF, PNR and so on... Here is a pic of three I thought was really cool to see around:

By that point, I had already "sold" the idea of "Dark Visions" by L.J. Smith to Sagi and she was reading the blurb in the back of "Soulless" (which she also bought **evil grin**). Since she has never read smut before, I decided to try and hunt at least a nice PNR book for her and it was almost impossible. Picture this! Me walking around and checking every freaking shelf, like I was on a mission, Sagi behind me saying I wouldn't find any and then me just getting more and more obsessed in truing to find it LOL

Just then, I see a box of three of Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter series, though they were

Books 2, 3 and 4 in that series. I freak out LOL call out to Sagi and show it to her hehe. Then, I turned to the saleswoman and asked if they had those books separately, she looks at the books, looks at me and says:

"No, we don't. *pause* You know what these books are, right?? You know what they have in it?"

me: "Yeah, Thanks for your help" I turn, start laughing and tell Sagi what she said. WTH does that saleswoman care if I read that? Seriously? Only in Israel, I'm telling you LOL.

We then move on to take a look at the other, smaller, bookstore at the mall. There, I find GOLD

Series by Jeaniene Frost and almost start jumping up and down. Seriously! I was this close (thumb and forefinger almost touching) to doing my happy dance in the middle of the shop LOL. Here is the proof that they have the NH series in Israel:

Of course, I just have to convince Sagi to buy the book; and of course she does and says: "Going with you to a Bookstore is so dangerous" LOL. What can I say? She is right hehe *evil grin*

What's on my mind...

I have many things I want to talk to you guys about that I cannot divide them in different posts :P First and foremost, I am so happy for being here in this amazing country these past 2 years. They were a couple of the best years of my life. I met so many great people, I have been through so much here; good time, bad times, incredible times, nightmares and everything in between. I do not regrets and I feel I have learned so much from everything. Thank you all you people that have been part of my life, people that were just passing through and people that showed up to stay... You have made my life better, you have made me a better person, and for that I will always be grateful :) Thank you for you that always shows up here and allow yourself a few minutes to read my rants, please know that everything that I put up in this blog means the world to me :) *Wipes away a couple stray tears... Now, moving on to some laughter (hopefully) Thursday night I went out with my girl Melina and a friend of hers from Costa Rica... A few beers and some vodka later we decide we should make a telenovela (soap opera)... well, at least the opening for it anyways... hehe! There is nothing to fear...?!?!

I remember the last time I walked around the streets of Copacabana in Rio de Janeiro... It was my last visit to the Sochnut (Jewish Agency) before my alyiah... I was born in Rio and I was supposed to be used to it... but I wasn't... I felt so self conscious walking around there, so scared... it was such an awful feeling... A little while later I realized it wasn't just there... even in the small city I had been living, I felt too uncomfortable walking around the streets on my own... granted that it was not as bad as in Copacabana, but even so... Now, I am here... I'm in Tel Aviv, such an European city... but still here, in the middle east... I am not scared... I can walk alone at 4am and I am not scared... I feel safe here and I appreciate that feeling... That is one of the many reasons I love living in Israel... Don't get me wrong, I have had a couple creepy situations involving cab drivers that could have scared me a lot... once a driver simply asked for a kiss when we got to my house, another kept asking me out during the whole ride... during the most recent experience, the driver kept asking me to come over to his house to cook for him... lol... I laugh at those stories now... but while they were happening, they were quite scary... Fear is an amazing thing; it can keep us from living... I could say I’m traumatized and never get into a cab alone again... but, so what??? Life is supposed to be scary... I can get out of my house tomorrow and get hit by a car, can't I??? What's the point of living if you don't take chances??? Of course, getting back on a horse after a fall is terrifying... but being on that horse once more, and succeeding at it... One step further...

Saying that I haven't been inspired to come here and write is a lie, and I don't lie on this blog :) I have thought up a couple subjects I plan to bring up and discuss here, but I have been too lazy to sit down and write it lol... However, I hope that the news I'm about to give you guys helps letting my laziness go :P I have been on the world wide web for almost ten years and even after all this time the internet amazes me with its power... How, is still unknown, but an editor of instablogs (www.instablogs.com), a news/article based social network, came across this little blog of mine and invited me to join the "citzen voices" of the site and contribute with fresh and original articles... well, I have accepted the challenge and my first piece is up :) I enjoy writing here so much, but I never thought that it could open such an amazing door for me... Stop and Think about it...

I had heard about this day when I was in Jewish school, I had heard how it was here in Israel... However, to experience it... is definitely completely different Today is The Holocaust Remembrance Day – Yom Ha’Shoah (in Hebrew). The day all Jewish people in the world stop and remember what we lost in the Second World War… It is a day that is meant to help the new generations remember what so many people went through and avoid letting it die as a distant memory… It hurts to think that 11 million people died, 6 of which were of my own people… It huts to remember what, for me, was the lowest low human beings can get… coming to Israel was the best thing I have ever done in my life, stopping being a minority, becoming part of whole and feeling at home… During the day sirens ring at two different hours of the day… when that happens EVERYONE stops whatever they are doing (yes, even driving) and keeps a moment of silence until the siren stops… At school we had a ceremonial, that included speeches, a survivor told her history and we sang the national anthem… I am not ashamed to admit that it brought tears to my eyes, the feeling of being amongst so many Jewish people in such an important day, was amazing… and besides, I simply love the Israeli national anthem…. It's just beautiful… I would like to take this moment and express what this day means to me and what it should mean to the world… 1945 sounds so long ago… but it is not as it seems… we can find innumerous neo-Nazi websites online and a lot of people that say the Holocaust never happened… I worry for the day there are no survivors left to tell their stories… I am afraid their experiences will be only pages in a school History books… and that is what this day is for me… The opportunity to stop, remember and ponder on dark days… The world lost 11 million people… and that should NEVER happen again… It is up to us the bearers of the future generations to not let it happen… Song of the moment: Israel's National Anthem - Hatikva (The Hope) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=biQtrQpyJGo
