I loved this story! Jack and Lily meet one night without telling each other who they really are, or will be, come tomorrow. But as soon as Lily realizes who Jack is she regretfully has to say goodbye.
Turns out Jack and Lily are both candidates running for Congress. Although they are not the front-runner and don't think they really stand a chance of winning the bid, they have their political careers to consider as they decide to pursue a friendship that turns into more. And then they have to make a decision that could change everything, their professional and personal relationship with each other.
Lily is a widow and single parent who has not been able to find a man who can accept her strong-mindedness as well as her having a son. But these are things that Jack is loving about her. He sees her as an equal and never tries to overpower her or come to her rescue like a knight in shining armor. I really appreciated that Jack, and the author, let Lily be her own person with dreams and goals as a PERSON and not just a woman. I would love to know Lily in real life!!
Jack is smart and sexy and although his friend Bill thinks of him as a golden boy, Jack is humble and genuine. That just ups his hot quotient!!
I was happy to see them work through their potential problems rationally and without ego or hurt feelings. They were honest about their feelings and their goals which made their relationship real and solid. I really think these two will get through anything together! Very glad to see their happily-ever-after come at the end of this cute and fun story.
