**As of Today, Feb 24th, This Blog is an Award Free Zone!**
I am sorry! I LOVE the awards you give me and I wish I didn't have to do this, but my blogging schedule in general has not made possible for me to follow the requirements for the awards I receive.
Because of that, I feel that this is for the best.
I'm doin' it!!! I need to post a blog about it now. haha
I've always been a Merry Gentry lover from Laurell K Hamilton but I never got the vibe with her Anita Blake ;S
You're up for quite a challenge with 17 books 0-0 in one year. Enjoy and good luck!
Hi Larissa, just a quick note to welcome you to The Anita Blake Challenge! So pleased you joined :)
I will be posting Mr Linky in the New Year where you can link up any reviews you may have of the books you've read for the challenge.
Have fun!
@Rex YAY!!!
@Leontine - I love Merry... but Anita kicks butts :P
@Book Chick City
Thanks for a great a great challenge and Ill be reviewing and posting as I go along :P
I love old-school Anita Blake. Around about 'Narcissus in Chains' things went downhill. I am all for erotica in Urban Fantasy - but Anita's downward spiral into sluttiness was so out of character and random that it really bought the series down.
I personally think that Anita's promiscuity perked up around about the same time that Laurell K Hamilton divorced her first husband (who, surprise, surprise, was the inspiration for Richard's character).
I prefer her Merry Gentry series. At least in that universe the fey's promiscuity is a laissez faire character trait that is totally acceptable in the plot context.
As for Anita... 'Skin Trade' was so bad, IMO. For the last couple of books Jean-Claude has been a no show (I think she's had Anita and him having phone conversations, and that's about it) and in 'Skin Trade' Anita almost crossed the line with a 16-year-old boy. Too much for me. I'm still soldiering on with the series, but I've lost the love.
Sorry for my rant. Can you tell that I feel kinda passionately about this? lol
