Live it up, you only live once...
Categories :
Yeah, life is full of cliches... Things, people, places, words don't seem to impress much anymore and not even mean as much as they should... What is the consequence of that in our lives??? I believe that, that is when we start to take life for granted...
If a friend is suportive, He or She is doing his/her job... If you have a great dad, he is just fulfilling his obligation... A sunset becomes just another reason to go home after work... We complain about the sunrise because it means a new day is starting... Everything around is nothing but a big blur... We meet someone nice and S/He becomes just someone else you know... Talking for hours seems like a waste of time... and expressions that once meant something become dust or object of ridicule...
I don't quite remember the first time I saw "The dead poets society"... However I remember watching it in college and acting out a scene from it... I actually played the teacher at the time... That teacher that Robin Williams played so brilliantly has always been a role model for me... as a person and as a teacher too...
I once saw in on a sitcom someone making fun of the boy that killed himself for not being able to do what he had always dreamed of... I can't remember the show right now (ahhhhh the people that know me, know how much I hate myself for that lol - OMG I just remembered :D)...
It was an episode of "friends" (where else?? right?? lol) called "The one with the fake monica", during the first season... The fake Monica from the title says that the movie took two hours of her life that she could never get back and says: "...that thing at the end where the kid kills himself because he can't be in the play? What was that?! It's like, kid, wait a year, leave home, do some community theatre."
I have to admit I laughed at that and I have to say it is quite a smart one... but regardless, I don't agree with it...
life is not meant to be wasted, its meant to be lived at its fullest... that kid's story was extreme, but the times were different...
Carpe Diem is a cliche... but when it comes to using a cliche, I would stick to that one... its meaning its much deeper than it's cliche status...
Today I complete 1 year in israel... I come full circle in the first of many cycles I plan to live in Eretz... The best decision I have ever made and the biggest life change...
Don't coast, postpone, procrastinate, don't take it for granted... Live, cry, laugh, fight, fall, get up, dance, jump, love, lust the most you can with no regrets...
CARPE DIEM...
