The "Muniot"...
Categories :
I have the best dad ever. He actually drives me to school everyday and picks me up afterwards. Can you believe that? He bought a car here because of me. However like I said in the previous post every story has a begining.
Before the car, I got around almost exclusively by "munit" (Taxi). It was really expensive, but it gave me definatelly great stories to tell.
First of all, let me just say that just by saying you are brazillian here makes people react in a very specific way, which is very interesting and I will definately address it later, on a post.
Like any other country, here in Israel we can find different kinds of drivers. The talkative, the rude, the young, the old, the bad driver, the cute, the flirty/harrassing and so on. But as cab drivers categories go, there are two that are the most analyzed; The talkative and the flirty one. Mainly because they result in the best stories... lol.
I have a few of them...
I am going to summarizing the talkative type in one story, because almost all of them are very similar, which comes to some questions that keep popping in my head, like:
Is 24 years old, too old?
Do I really look like I could be married to my father?
and mostly...
WHYYYYYYYYY?
Ok, a regular cab ride turns to a nightmare when the guy starts asking about me (in hebrew; which, for that level of conversation, I usually can handle).
CB: you live here?
L: Yeah, I made alyiah
CB: congratulations
L: thanks
CB: how long ago?
L: five months
CB: nice. So, you are "ola chadasha"?.
L: yeah
CB: welcome
L: thanks
CB: where do you live?
L: in Te Aviv
CB: Are you married?
L: No (shocked face)
CB: Why not?
L: I don't want to now
CB: why now?
L: I'm young
CB: how old are you?
L: 24
CB: you are too old, you should get married...
and goes with the guy(s) trying to convince me to get married... (it happened more than 10 times people....)
Oh, and if I'm with my dad... they always think he is my husband and dont believe when we say he is my dad.... Damn!!!!!!! lol
The flirty and sometimes harrassing type is more complicated and I want to tell you guys a story...
There I was leaving a club at 4am...
what? it was early... lol I usually leave at 6am...
any who... lol
I went out and got a cab...
again with the talking and all
(this is actually a talkative+flirty/harrassing cab driver story... lol)
when we get to my house the guy turns to me and says something in hebrew that I can't understand... I say: what?
then he turns to me: "give me a kiss?"
ARE YOU KIDDING ME????????????
LOL
All I have to say, Baruch Hashem my dad got a car and taxi's are something very esporadic in my life...
